State of the Pups: February 2013
State of Me:
I have not written a State of the Pups since July of last year because of...well, it's morbid, but I was in the middle of writing it when I got the phone call from my mother that my father had passed away and I ignored that call to finish writing up the post and then...yeah. So every time I've tried to write one since then, I've gotten incredibly upset and wasn't able to do it.
I'm not feeling upset right now and it's high time I did an update even if it's just for my own organizational purposes. As far as me as the mun goes, I'm doing well. I don't feel like I have anyone who needs to be dropped and I'm making reqs consistently and easily. I got married last week and a lot of that stress is over with so now I'm just going to work and doing my thing.
Now, onto the pups!
Jacob Black (
quileutejacob): Jacob is going to be getting married on 8 March (a Friday) and Manda and I have decided to have this just be an open gathering post to the main comm. I encourage any and everyone who knows Jacob or Belle to come and it will be a fantastic time.In other news with him, he's going to be starting on building a house pretty soon for he and Belle to live in and anyone who wants to help out with that is absolutely welcome. As far as threads go, I'm digging him and Wilke and want him to touch base with all his friends. Jacob is a pretty easy-going guy so if you want to tag one of my pups and haven't before, he's a good choice.
Dr. Helen
notsocommon): Magnus is incredibly happy with her son and with Will so a lot of her threads have been in regards to that. I am absolutely LOVING every second of her threading with Wanderer - and not only just because that's a canon that I love and adore myself (and Libbie does a great job with her). It's giving her a chance to be Dr. Magnus of the Sanctuary again which was something that she sorely needed.
For the next few months, I know Callie and I have talked about sending them + the wee one on a homeplot which will be for an extended period of time, likely the whole month that you're allowed, so they'll get a chance to capture an Abnormal and reconnect on a mentor-protege level. Magnus is also considering running for Council again now that she hasn't just given birth and with the arrival of Hiccup's NDPD present (some supplies for the vet clinic) I want to give her an EP there pretty soon. Side note - Ria, I'm so sorry I blanked out on emailing you :( Want to do this early next month?
Jon Snow (
tooktheblack): Jon is kind of coasting a little since Ash is (technically) on hiatus but I really want to give him an EP next month since he hasn't had one in a long while. I sort of want to have him go riding, since it's been a while, and anyone who has a horse/is interested in horses would be more than welcome to tag that in addition to his usual friends/acquaintances.
He recently joined the IPD on Robb's insistence and so you can find him on patrols in addition to his shifts in The Hub. His raven is still out and about and needs a wiki page to that effect but feel free to have him pester your pups without my permission. He's an annoying little shit.
He recently lost Alistair but gained Daenerys so he's doing all right. I know when GoT starts back he will get impossibly loud on me.
Kahlan Amnell (
mother_confessor): KAHLAN IS PREGNANT.
Okay, I got that out. Aside from being a little concerned she'll have a boy (as male confessors are a no no in her universe) Kahlan is pleased as punch at being pregnant. I really want her to thread with the other pregnant ladies quite a bit - I know Jane's having her daughter soon and Bella's going to be in the next few months so it's a nice little run of babies all in a row.
She got a horse for NDPD but she can't ride it until after she's given birth so I presume Richard has been exercising her. If your pup rides and would offer, Kahlan would be grateful.
Sam Merlotte (
merlotte):Sam is kind of coasting right now too but I know he'll get louder when True Blood comes back in June so I have no concerns about him at the moment. I really want some kind of plot for him - I'm really enjoying his friendship with Sarah Connor and thinking maybe he can help her out with her terminator problem? Otherwise, I will just go back through canon and see what I can give him as an item that would be poignant without being just devastating. True Blood isn't really nice to its characters >.>
Magic Mike: (
likes_breakfast)Mike continues to be an absolute joy. He's easy-going and fun and has flirtations going on with Julie, Saffron and Jess - all of which I would like to continue. He and Julie occasionally get deep and I love that because beneath the party boy he's actually kind of sensitive.
I'm loving him and Nick too and I need threads with him always. Mike honestly has some of the best bro-friends of all my pups and I could seriously thread Tunny-Mike and Nick-Mike ALL. DAY. LONG.
He's still working on furniture and stuff so if there's something you want built, let me know!
MacKenzie McHale: (
embedded)MACKENZIE. Seriously one of my favorite characters on television right now and I just love playing her. She's a little bit of a challenge because her canon is such that she's constantly plugged into current events and the island...not so much but she's adapting well. She's possibly sleeping with Nikola Tesla now that Alcuin's given him the okay and is basically just treating the island as one immersive documentary project.
I really want to send her on a homeplot, possibly alone and possibly maybe with Scripps so he can see her version of New York? If that's something he'd be interested in, Manda, let me know. She just really misses Will SO MUCH and I think it would do her some good to see him again and know he's okay.
I also really want her to start questioning the way island elections are run. She feels like a general election isn't really representative of the distinct populations and almost feels like there ought to be voting districts each with one representative. I doubt anything will come of it other than her blabbing and researching but it interests her greatly.
Jack O'Neill: (
has_2ls)I brought Jack back! I'm actually pleased with having done this for multiple reasons, the least of which being picking a new canon entry point for him. I brought him from so early on last time around that I just ran out of shit to do with him but I think now bringing him from the Atlantis era gives me a lot more to work with. Things are getting better between him and Carter - they were painfully awkward at first but Callie and I have had a lot of fun getting them back to where they used to be.
He did talk to her some over Valentine's about his fears and hers about him replacing the former version of him and they made some real progress (and made out a lot, which was nice and fun) and Jack's going to start working on building a house for her and the kids. He's also going to be around to help Jane with her new baby and is generally pretty happy now that things are getting better with Sam and he's getting settled in.
Legolas: (
of_mirkwood)OMG Legolas is so fun! I am loving having him learn what the island's all about and his threads with Fili are honestly just to die for. Everyone he's met so far has been fantastic and I really just want people to throw whoever at him. It's so fun to play out his polite, Elf version of WTF.
Next month, I want to do a post of him starting to build his treehouse (good lord what is it with these pups of mine and their building projects) and getting to know people better. He will definitely be getting an EP even if nobody else does and it will be likely toward the beginning of the month as I am itching to play him so much.
Melanie Stryder (
safeashouses): I am so freaking excited to app Mel! She's a character that has interested me ever since I read The Host the first time but now that Libbie has her excellent Wanderer IG, I just cannot help myself. I've written the background portion of the app and intend to work on it a little more tonight. I'm aiming to have it turned in the early part of March because I just cannot contain myself any longer.

Jon Snow: Bran is encouraging Del to learn how to horse ride, I may give her an EP just throwing herself at horses (THIS IS HOW YOU GET ON THEM SURELY) or just riding around backwards going I DONT LIKE THIS.
